Greetings from the land of rain and cold. September was a beautiful month, October we are paying for it! The rain we received is plentiful. Perhaps the lakes will come up a bit.

Elliott has started with basketball. There were so many kids that they had to split the 6th graders from the 7th and 8th graders. He has his first game on Thursday.

Wednesday's after school at the Barnes Community Church will be their youth program. The kids gather after school in a Christian environment. Elliott loves the camaraderie with all the kids and college students and of course Dave Johnson the youth director. Way to keep our children safe while also having a good time.

A big thanks to all who have come out and helped with my garage package. I can't thank you enough. It will eventually get finished. Thanks a million!

Well bowling is just that bowling. We are in last place with no other place to go but up. I got my average once last week. Hopefully this week I will bowl better.

Get well wishes to Tim as he is facing some health issues. Tim is the husband of one of my bowling friends. Also to Terry Dorn head coach of the Barnes Trading Post 4th of July Softball Team. Good luck with your treatments. To Dean Peet as he is having some issues with his heart. All the others facing medical issues. You are in my thoughts. It is so hard living in a rural area when it comes to tragedy and sickness as you always know your neighbors.

The Halloween party was very fun for the kids at Cedar Lodge the hayride was the best according to Elliott. I am not sure who won for the best costumes. Speaking of Halloween the Trading Post will be having a party on Oct 31. Judging will be at 9 p.m. A free drink for all who come in costume! See ya' there!

At the Trading Post we have daily Happy hours! Monday through Thursday 50 cents off a drink. Friday is two fers! Buy one drink get one free! We also have food specials: Monday is our buck a burger night. Yes that's right a 1/4 lb burger for just a buck starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday is Taco Tuesday, soft-shell or hard just a buck! Wednesday is wicked wild wing night regular or hot wings just 35 cents a piece. Thursday is thirsted Thursday with eggrolls only one buck!
