Check out the "Buy one drink,
get one free." coupon below!!
I must have been on sabbatical the last 2 weeks! Somehow
things are so hectic. The two weeks around the 4th of July
are crazy busy. Trust me I am not complaining, just making
up excuses.
Elliott is finished with little league. It seems the season
is so short and the activities are so busy. A big thanks to
coach Jeff Mergen from Cable for coaching the Cable Cubs.
Even though their season wasn't filled with wins the kids
had a good time and much was learned.
Elliott has switched gears to golf now. Stacy Burfield gives
him lessons on Friday mornings. She is the coach at
Northwestern. He takes lessons at Hidden Greens North golf
course in Solon Springs. He is starting to hit the ball very
well. Look out Mom!
A big congratulations and thanks to the Trading Post
softball team as they have won the 4th of July tournament
again. This is their sixth year in a row. Way to go guys!!
Another big congratulations and thanks to the Solberg/Thorn
etc etc float, they placed 2nd place in the 4th of July
parade and tagged the Barnes Trading Post. Thanks all of
you. You are the best! Their theme was the 70's and they
sure we're adorable in their hippie costumes. 1st place
honors went to Doorn's Inn. Another successful 4th of July.
I always say Barnes population is 600 in the census, 6000 on
the weekends and 6 million on the 4th of July! Great job to
the 4th's committee.
The weather has been awesome maybe hot to some. We finally
received some precipitation too. We can always use the rain.
Be careful of swimmer's itch. I was struck with the awful
condition. Try and dry off if you are in any lakes. Then
shower immediately this will help prevent the dreaded
swimmer's itch.
Golf has been fun. Two weeks ago our team won the event of
sucker in the bucket at Hidden Greens. We had the week off
at Forest Point due to the Holiday. Our guest event at
Hidden Greens was canceled due to a funeral that many of the
ladies were attending. I was also invited by June Kronberg
an employee to her guest day at Botten's. What a lovely day!
We didn't golf to well but a great time was had.
