Now that
spring has arrived it seems like the days are fleeting by!
While the winter seemed to drag on. Welcome back to all our
snowbirds whom seem to be trickling in every day!
New.....dollar mini dogs/ mini cheddarwurst and mini brats
one dollar a piece or 6 for five dollars...anytime! Starting
on Thursday's evenings at 5 p.m. we will start our new steak
special every Thursday night. 9.95 for a bourbon steak or a
blue cheese steak or a plain one. Come and check it out.
Just a normal week this week. Busy one as usual! Weather was
quite nice this week warmer days and cool nights.
The pool tournament was a huge success. Denny King from
Ashland took first, Scott Clivette also from Ashland took
second and two Barnes Boys took the rest. Gary Scharlau and
PJ Foat rounded off the Money. We also had a Calcutta and
Bob Stansky did quite well with that. We had 26 entrants
which topped last year by 10. Way to go Amy Rice as she was
the only woman entered.
Bowling is officially over. Now on to golf, which started
last week....after a few shakey rounds I did very well on
opening league at Forest Point. I had a 43 with a birdie and
two pars. Just like bowling I will start out with a unjust
handicap. Oh well it is what it is! I start at Hidden Greens
on Tuesday. I sure enjoy our flexible format for both these
leagues.
Elliott has been diligently practicing with his baseball. He
has even pitched some. I can't wait until the games start he
has a very good team.
A big warm welcome to Angie and Kelsey Kinderman as they
both started employment with us. Welcome aboard! A big warm
welcome to Amy Rice as she has also joined the workforce
with us!
Good luck to Karna as she is recovering from her knee
surgery all went well! We sure miss her.
Kudos to the Wisconsin Tavern League. In general, my
opinions are that I do not favor smoking in general but
there are ways to combat the situation in small business. I
feel our rights in WI are little by little being dictated by
the state or the "way out there" groups. What's next? Well
we did reach a compromise and the senate is suppose to vote
this week and a smoking ban would be starting July 5, 2010.
If you are an WI establishment please join and support your
WI Tavern League. Call me for an application or more
information.
Wednesday there will be a meeting at Forest Point for the
Eau Claire Lakes business association at 10 a.m. We will be
discussing the new Barnes Website informational Blog. All
new and existing businesses are welcome! I need all
information for the new blog by the 20th of everyone month.
I will be in charge of the blog for ECLBA and the Ashland
Bayfield County Tavern league. All information should be
sent to my email or mailed.
