Greetings to all of you! Well I think spring/summer hit us
for at least one day! It was suppose to rain for 8 days
straight. Sunday was very warm and felt like summer. Some
people were without power for over a day after a storm on
Friday, luckily we only lost ours for one hour. You can save
that type of weather.
Congrats to the Drummond Class of 2008. There were 39
graduating. Good luck in your future. I handed out 1000 in
the Steven Hough Memorial Scholarships, 5 local people were
the recip1ents.
Golf was very good this week. I golfed Monday in a scramble
with 11 other ladies. It is a come if you want day. It
rained the entire time. Argh.. not favorable conditions for
a good golf game. Tuesday I golfed at Hidden Greens, we
received rain on our last hole and then it never quit
raining. I did win the previous weeks event Mutt and Jeff.
Wednesday was our official start for Forest point league. My
foursome didn't golf that well. I guess you could say we
were establishing our handicaps.
I am happy to report Paul Merz is home. He has had a long
road after his ATV accident. He will need constant care. My
heart goes out to his family. Stay strong. Paul is a
wonderful man.
My friend Stan and Lois were in an ATV accident and flipped
their ATV last weekend. They are both very lucky with Stan
getting the brunt. Please continue to mend and I sure hope
there are not head injuries. More prayers as Stan now has
pneumonia. When it rains it pours.
Elliott had his practice on Tuesday and a game was suppose
to happen on Thursday. Mother nature did not cooperate. He
has games on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Go Cardinals
go! Not to be confused with St Louis! Seems his native to
Barnes pen-pal and his son our diehard Cardinals fans. I
always tell him to move to St Louis.
There will be a benefit to help medical costs for Paul Merz
at the Cabin Store June 28 starting at 2 p.m. Let's all show
our support!
The safe-ride program has officially started in Barnes. Ask
the bartender if you would like a safe-ride home? For more
