Greetings from Barnes. It has become a bit brisk. Ole' man
winter went from 90 degree weather to 30. Brrrrrrrr! We did
have frost on the pumpkin and a bit of rain this week. The
days have been normal for this time of year.
Go Brewers, they are tied for first place today in a tight
race with the Cubs. St Louis is falling but still a threat. Go
Brewers! Go Badgers they won last weekend in a tight race. Go
Packers. They opened their season on Sunday with a victory. On
Wisconsin once again!
Golf on Wednesday was very cold a mere difference of 60
degrees! I should have stayed home. We have our banquet and
end of the year festivities next Wednesday, I believe we
finished 2nd I will confirm that next week. I also should have
stayed home from bowling of course my average was up since I
bowled fairly well last week. We won 5-2. We were in second
after one week. Go team go!
Elliott seems to be settling in at school. He hasn't said too
much. I think he enjoys seeing the other children. He had his
first field trip last Thursday to Big Top C (i can't spell it)
in Bayfield. What a great way to get the enthusiasm going
right off the bat for school.
He had a great summer.
Thanks to all who patronized the Barnes Trading Post or
Wilderness Inn on Labor Day. I donate the days sale to
Drummond High School Scholarships in memory of my late husband
Steven Hough. I will be granting one thousand in monies this
spring. Thanks and remember this for next Labor day. I cannot
believe Steve has been gone 9 years already. Wow, time flies!
To my staff---You guys/gals are the best! I appreciate
